Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Canada on Monday to attend the G-7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta. This marks his first visit to Canada in ten years and comes at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. PM Modi’s visit is part of a four-day tour covering Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia. The G-7 Summit, held from June 16 to 17, brings together leaders from the world’s most advanced economies to discuss important global issues.

This is Modi’s sixth consecutive appearance at the G-7 Summit, showing India’s growing role in global decision-making.

PM Modi is also holding several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit, including with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Both leaders agreed to deepen cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy, space, and critical minerals. Strengthening India-Canada Relations
