India Clinches Gold in 4x400m Mixed Relay at Asian Athletics Championships 2025

India celebrated a major victory by winning the gold medal in the 4x400m mixed relay at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea. The Indian team, made up of Rupal Chaudhary, Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan, Vishal TK, and Subha Venkatesan, delivered a strong performance to defend their title from the previous edition. They finished the race in 3 minutes and 18.12 seconds, staying ahead of their main rivals, China and Sri Lanka.

The race was intense, with India leading from the very start. The Chinese team put up a tough fight, especially in the third leg, but Vishal TK managed to pull ahead, giving Subha Venkatesan a good lead for the final stretch. Subha maintained the advantage, crossing the finish line well ahead of the competition.

Teamwork and Triumph Amid Tough Conditions at Asian Athletics Championships

The Indian mixed relay team’s gold was not just a result of speed, but also of teamwork and resilience. The athletes had to deal with wet and windy weather, making the race even more challenging. Rupal Chaudhary, who also won silver in the women’s individual 400m, played a key role by running two tough races on the same day. Vishal TK, who had just set a personal best in the men’s 400m, also contributed significantly to the team’s success.

“It was challenging to compete in back-to-back individual 400m and relay legs, but good preparation enabled me to handle the situation,” said Rupal. The Athletics Federation of India praised the team’s performance, noting that the mix of experienced runners and new talent bodes well for the future. Subha Venkatesan, who anchored the team, was also part of the gold-winning squad in the previous Asian Championships, showing consistency at the highest level.

This gold medal win not only adds to India’s growing reputation in athletics but also inspires young athletes across the country. With this victory, India has shown that it can compete with the best in Asia, and the team’s unity and determination have set a strong example for future competitions.
